The girls are now completely toilet trained during the day, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need the Whizzer anymore!! Far from it!

I’ve gone back to work now, so for the most part my husband is one who takes them to and from school and on the odd adventure (I make sure we get plenty of girl time at weekends) and he’ll always have the Whizzer in the car. There’s been the odd occasion when they’ve got from school to the car and suddenly need to go, despite being asked before they leave, and at times like this the Whizzer is a godsend for a quick wee tucked behind the car! And if we’re out and about, it’s all very well saying to have a ‘wild wee’ in a bush, but soggy socks and knickers are an all-too-often hazard! So using the Whizzer just takes that risk away.

Top tips for using the Whizzer

For a boy to use it, it’s super obvious - in a kind of point-and-go kind of way, but for a girl it’s not difficult in the slightest… we’ve found the best way is for her to bend her knees slightly to then move her thighs apart. This allows space to position the Whizzer with the privacy spout covering her, and off you go! Much like we’ve all been caught out at a loo with no paper, next (with it still in place) get her to do a little jiggle once she’s stopped weeing. You might not even need any toilet paper, but I usually have a little paper in a ziplock bag that you can either throw away or pop back in that bag to flush at home.

I like the fact that it is completely leak-proof, so if there’s nowhere nearby to pour the wee away, you can pop the lid on until you find somewhere. Other products that purport to be an alternative to the Whizzer, simply aren’t (for many reasons, but mainly) for the simple fact that they leak. Wee. In your handbag, or your car, or all manner of places that you don’t want wee to go!! Also, we rinse it with hot water as soon as we get in, but it can also go into the dishwasher, which is great.

We’re still waiting for the hormones to kick in for them to stay dry at night, but have got the Glow whizzer for when that day comes.
